I am doing the swiss military optionally (I have french-swiss citizenship) in summer 2027 because of different reasons but one of them is curiosity and discovering a new canton. I will be military police grenadier. I am worried that if I do the military that they would force me to move up the rank (going from recruit to an upper rank). Especially because I speak both French and Swiss German. Could that potentially happen? I am finishing now my bachelor and will register for a masters in zurich after the summer 2027. So theoretically they are not allowed to keep me after the recruitment school (the 4months) right? I know some people that were forced to stay submitted by /u/Calm-Rough7846
