The company calls it its most capable yet. Fable 5 and the restricted Mythos 5 are the same underlying model, Anthropic said; Mythos 5 keeps full offensive-cyber power and ships only to vetted defenders through Project Glasswing. On benchmarks it leads. Stripe said Fable 5 finished a 50-million-line Ruby migration in one day, work it pegged at two months by hand. Michael Truell, Cursor’s CEO and co-founder, called it the state of the art model on CursorBench. Anthropic blocks cybersecurity, biology, chemistry and distillation prompts, routing them to the older Opus 4.8. Guardrails trigger on under 5% of sessions, and a bug bounty found no universal jailbreak in over 1,000 hours. Pricing is $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output, double Opus 4.8. Fable 5 is free on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise seats until June 22, then shifts to usage credits.
