Hello everyone! I am a 30F adopted Baslerin originally from Italy, been living is Switzerland about 4 years Since two years I took on sailing offshore on 25-30 feet boats, and I love it so much. Now I would like to try deriva as well, since I am very active it should be the right challenge, and there are many beautiful lakes were I believe sailing would be an incredible experience. Since I am living in Basel, it is given that I will do daily travels on the weekend in order to sail. The question is WHERE and I would like to hear your suggestions! Here my “requirements” and conditions, or what I would like to know:
- since I am brand new to deriva, I would take some lessons but would rather not commit to a long lasting course. I would later try sail on my own, just renting the boat if possible in the beginning, and eventually increase attendance depending on how I feel with the sport.
- I would like to have wide (> 1) choice about the boat and eventually progress the level (trying a laser, foil… I wish at least)
- I speak English and Italian fluently, french and German are A2/B1 level, but I would prefer a chance to improve these languages if a trainer has the patience to bear with me so I am considering lakes Zuri/Zug/Luzern as well as Lausanne
- would like an active club, maybe one that organises some regattes for beginners as well or events, or that has spaces available to use and train/chill
- interested in knowing average renting prices or how much is the membership, if I would be required to attend with a certain frequency… It would be my first time joining a club so I really don’t know what to expect Merci, danke und Buon vento! 🌬️⛵ submitted by /u/Ambroeus205
