I’m a postdoctoral researcher in a biology/space science related field. I’ve just started using Fable for a small project and I just keep hitting the safeguards. Project involves fetching scientific journals’ RSS feeds and unifying them into one output RSS feeds containing only papers relevant to my research. The parsing mechanism involves processing the papers with Sonnet ; during a test run of the parser, as soon as I’m fetching papers on biorXiv I’m hitting the safeguards, which in return triggers Fable’s safety switch as well while working on the codebase. My work also involves computational chemistry and I’m not even started using Fable with it yet. I’m really worried it will freak out as soon as it learns about the chemistry. Applied to Anthropic’s Cyber Verification Program and included papers I’ve published on computational chemistry, was denied within the hour. What good is a model if it’s unusable? Surely I’m not the only one hitting the safety switch? submitted by /u/Pristine-Trash-7155
