My husband and I had our first child 5 months ago. We only tried once and miraculously got pregnant from that one try. My husband went to go get his testosterone levels checked out today because I felt like he hasnt been himself (low energy, ZERO sex drive etc.). Its been affecting our marriage. Turns out, his testosterone level is 180. For his age, his levels should be between 600-700. He has been prescribed a testosterone injection 1x a week. Researching online I’ve learned that TRT will tank sperm counts and make it difficult to have more children. I’m internally crashing out a little bit because I want him to feel better, but we also want more children. We don’t want to try for another baby for another year or so. The doctor he spoke with talked about something they could put him on when we want to try for another baby but I’m unsure of the effectiveness. Does anyone have any experience with this? I don’t know what to do. More info: He did take steroids for a while as a younger man (8+ years ago) just for “fun”. Not prescribed. He used to do a much larger dose than what he is prescribed now. He is 40 years old now. submitted by /u/Sativa_lady
