Sonnet 4.5: Just a few tiny prompts required now to make the usage jump about 22%, literally pertaining to a single file, just a few lines were edited; Small bug-fixes take several attempts; comments added to code don’t reflect the purpose; workflow no longer respect. This morning and early afternoon (EU): Very Long sessions, excellent execution and plan respecting. Frequently refreshing the stats and every time being highly surprised on how much it’s delivering with lengthy and complex work being completed. Quality quite good. Sonnet level, but acceptable. Just a little bit of steering is enough to combat most of the quality issues. End of afternoon: new chat, 50% of 5h hourly, second session: Completely derailing. No steering seems to help, and the more I try to, the more it fails. I wait, and give it another shot on next limit reset. First Claude Code in terminal (which was working well), then VSCode… results similar. VSCode context window issues: very fast to compact. But even with a fresh chat, it’s bad…real bad, and the usage just jumps 10-20% on ever fail and hard interrupt. I was getting at least 5x if not much more usage this morning. It’s basically if the model just switched to Haiku and the plan has switched to a lower tier. Is anyone else noticing this? Are there specific hours for you, or on specific days? At the start of the day, or always at the end? submitted by /u/Manfluencer10kultra
