Okay, this might seem like a weird question, so I’ll start with an explanation. Essentially I’ve been having the same family friend cut my hair since I was a child, she ran a small salon out of her house. She told me at my last hair cut that she was retiring at the end of the year, so now I need to find a new place to cut my hair. Having never gotten a haircut anywhere else before, I have a few questions. How should I go about selecting a new place, aside from the typical looking through Google reviews and such? How much should I expect to pay for just a standard men’s hair cut? How much should I give as a tip? Do I need to make appointments, or do I just walk in? Do I need to tell them a style? I don’t really have a specific hairstyle, aside from the way I always keep my hair. I usually keep it a bit on the longer side, with a part on the right hand side and combed back. Will me telling them “like it is now, but shorter” be sufficient? Thanks! submitted by /u/Legend_of_the_Wind
