Obviously tongue in cheek here. I just thought it would be funny (in a dark way) to imagine a scenario where the US government restricts a future model like it did on Friday, but on a permanent basis. The rest of the world, at least 6 mo to a year behind, is spared the job losses. Meanwhile AI guts the American economy from within in a twist of cruel irony. Does the US stagnate in quicksand, unable to balance income losses with AI gains? Seeing the American quagmire does the rest of the world hit pause and allow human labor to save their economies?
