You see all the time where people are complaining about having college debt over $100k or even $200k or more. My wife and I are paying for our first son to attend a very well respected public university and with in state tuition the total for 4 years is going to run about $60k, including room and board, and I know for a fact that there are decent schools around for less than that. We plan to do the same with our younger son in 2 years. I can only assume people are attending private universities at those higher prices. Is it prestige? I feel like you can get a decent education without being in debt for 30 years. submitted by /u/JJQuantum
