The intention behind the changes are good, but I think they miss the mark. Having all the different tiers is confusing. There’s a much simpler solution:

  • No untradeable items are lost on death. This applies for all “tiers.”
  • the lowest tier items don’t break at all, similar to current implementation
  • all other items break, but are not lost on death
  • Trouver parchment is used to repair the equipment in place of the 500k fee. Items can still be repaired for straight up 500k fee as well. This gives Trouver parchment a use case and real GP value. Players don’t need to worry about wondering if their item is going to be lost on death without having to check something outside the game (wiki). This might even help keep Trouver value long term, since it will always have the equivalent value as repairing a broken item submitted by /u/ImperatorBTW
