While Rosemont isn’t technically Chicago, you will still be in reach of some of the most famous foods the city has to offer. I’m going to leave a list, others can add on if they’d like. I’m skipping over places in the inner city, and keeping it ease of access and local favorites. No trip to Chicago area is complete without a stop to Portillo’s. This is a local fast food chain that goes far and beyond most in its class. If you find yourself able, dine in, it’s an experience. Each Portillo’s has a theme, be it 50s diner, 20s speak easy, or American rockabilly. Try the Italian Beef, get it “dipped” or “baptized,” which is where they dunk the sandwich in the gravy of the beef. You can add sweet or spicy peppers, both are great. Some people add mozzarella cheese. Portillo’s hot dogs and burgers are also a good time. Pizza, don’t forget the pizza. The mix between Deep Dish or square cut, you won’t find pizza anywhere else like you can around Chicago and the suburbs. Some chains to list - Lou Malnati’s, Giordano’s, Rosati’s. I prefer Lou’s over the others but they are all local favorites. While all these places deliver, I find it fresher for carryout. You should also ask them to cut the pizza, as some will not without the request. Outside of these recommendations, Rosemont has some really good eateries around the hotels and theatre. Situated next to O’Hare Airport, one of the worlds busiest domestic airports, the food picks are high class. You have places like Fogo de Chao, an all you can eat Brazilian steakhouse. While on the pricier side, I’ve never had a bad time. Fat Rosie’s has all the toppings of a high tier Mexican restaurant. Ive tried most of their takes on Tacos, burritos, enchilada’s, etc, never disappointed. If other locals want to add some stuff here for our visiting friends, please feel free. Eat happy and have fun submitted by /u/Lamb-Of-Fox
