A very, very long time ago (around late March 2026), I was building my platform with Claude Code. It was a significant undertaking, and so I had Claude Code create several agents who (that?) were experts in their respective areas - Frontend, Middleware, Database, Security, etc. Those agents then reported in to an Orchestration agent I had also built. It worked very well. Since then, however, I have been unable to get Claude Code to ‘allow’ me to have the same setup. It will spin up its own agents if and when it wants to, so whether I create agents I insist it uses or not, it seems to create whatever agents it thinks are needed for that particular task. What this means is that I’m unable to control the development with the granularity I would prefer. Is there any way to get Claude Code to respect my wishes for using agents I’ve created vs spinning up its own on the fly? TL;DR - Claude Code used to allow user-supplied dev agents, but now spins up whatever agents it wants even if other agents already exist. submitted by /u/ritual_tradition
