I’m in my 30s still living with my parents with ~130k annual income before tax. In my culture it’s not that big of a deal to not move out until marriage and some of my friends both male and female met partners while living with parents. But “do you live at home” have always being a question that pops up on my 1st dates and my lack of success with finding relationship over last couple of years makes me feel very insecure about it. I enjoy my current living arrangement I pay rent to my parents but I enjoy living with them and living on my own is not only more expensive but also feel crushingly lonely. My parents are in their 60s and I’m concious that they’ll only be around for so long. I don’t like the prospect of having nothing but an empty apartment to come home. I work from home as well and given how expensive rent is in my city I think I’m stuck with a ~600 sq ft apartment that I’m going to be stuck all day in. The -only- reason why I’m moving out is so that i can tell the girl I don’t live at home and I’m wondering if it’s even worth it. submitted by /u/Citrus2015
