Hi everyone, I’m based in Switzerland and may need orthodontic treatment plus jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery). I’ve been quoted roughly CHF 30k for the surgery and CHF 10k+ for braces, so I’m wondering if doing parts of it outside Switzerland is realistic. Questions: Has anyone here done jaw surgery abroad (EU/UK, etc.) while living in Switzerland? How did it go (quality, follow-ups, complications)? Is it feasible to do surgery abroad but braces/orthodontic treatment in Switzerland (or the other way around)? Were Swiss orthodontists willing to take over a case started elsewhere? Any recommendations for countries/clinics/hospitals that are commonly used for this and are reliable? Did Swiss insurance (basic or supplementary) cover anything at all in such cases, either in Switzerland or abroad? If yes, what criteria mattered? submitted by /u/Upset_Replacement684
