I might be one of the few people that feel this way but I wanted to hear what others might have to say about this. As a computer science student I’ve always been interested in writing my own code to problem solve or build projects. I enjoy building websites and apps from scratch. The process of building, breaking, learning, and rebuilding is strenuous but such a rewarding feeling. With AI evolving and writing code better than most developers, I understand it’s important to learn how to use AI when coding. I’ve been interested in trying it out on some minor projects and it has been alright. Recently I decided to work on a new portfolio. This time, I decided to vibe code it for the most part. The website is almost done and ready to go but I can’t help but feel disappointed. The website is great and what I was hoping for, but I don’t feel happy about the work. I can tell I didn’t do most of the work and therefore I feel no connection to the work. I don’t know. I could be the small majority with this feeling or thought but I truly believe writing your own code still feels superior to vibe coding with AI. I’m curious to hear other opinions and thoughts. submitted by /u/Unique_Computer_1283
