I was able to use Fable 5 while it was still available. It felt great, did the job I asked of it, and proposed a few clever things when I challenged it. It really felt like GPT-5.5 when it was initially released (after which the performance degraded), and it was coding on par with Opus 4.8 when that was released. Then we heard a phony story about AWS reporting on the magnificent capabilities of Fable 5–no evidence presented, but lots of memes. Then we heard about the NSA trying to scare us with claims that the mythical Mythos had cracked all security within a few hours. Of course, no evidence was presented, but it’s probably because it’s supposedly too scary even to look at. The bizarre timing and the narrative make me wonder: is it that, once again, half of Congress is invested in this company and needs a payday on IPO day, or is it a message to “Jina”–look how great our AI is; you don’t have it, we have it, we are the best, we have a bigger red button, etc.? Really, I’ve seen more evidence of aliens landing on Earth than of how scary and powerful Fable 5 supposedly is. NOTE: We are not discussing whether Fable feels cool or whether it helps you. I’m curious whether you think the wonders attributed to Fable are real or fake—I’m talking about things it did that you couldn’t even imagine achieving yourself. Please read the post above carefully, or at least ask… Fable? Claude? Love y’all. submitted by /u/Temporary_Most5517
