I’m a 6’6, 110kg 26yr old who is in great shape and have had my fair share of confrontation/fights as I’ve grown up. But why is it I literally freeze myself in the moment of any potential conflict/fight? Like the other day I also got hit by a lime bike rider who was speeding on a pedestrian pathway and he had the nerve to go off at me and my girlfriend “im gonna fken smash you next time” etc etc As a response I told him to F off blah blah and he went head to head with me. Now naturally I stood up for myself and was prepared but I can’t lie if I was to say I wasn’t really doubting the situation. “Am I going to get knocked out” “What if I lose in front of my girl” “I have a lot to lose over this” After the situation I felt really immasculine and also ashamed that I was so scared to get hit. Any ideas how frequent this is? Especially from a bigger guy? I know bigger doesn’t mean better (no pun intended) but I think the pressures of being my size comes with the fact that I must be unbeatable to the general population. EDIT: Have read through everyone’s comments, I definitely agree across the board and I appreciate all the advice but also realistic outlook on the situation One thing I’ll mention is that this post wasnt for me to say “I wanna be in more fights” etc I actually quite like being the calm collected dude I am and don’t intend to change. Was more curious if there was a reason behind the flight instinct. Thanks you all 🫶 submitted by /u/MajesticDig8785
