Hi everyone, I came to Switzerland 2.5 years ago and have been working seasonal jobs on an L-permit as a chef in mountain restaurants. I have always enjyed it and learned to speak good German along the was (B2.3). I have a current contract that ends in October. Last year I was lucky enough to meet my partner who lives in Zurich. Things are going well and I a motivated to find a job closer to Zurich ideally without or less evening or weekend shifts, which would be benificial for our relationship and for me to develop a local network now that I am considering staying long(er)term. I am open to switch sectors or take on courses to improve my job opportunities. Currently I feel like my candidacy for jobs - in either institutions or outside of gastronomy - doesn’t always get taken at full value because I do not have the Swiss diploma’s even though I have the practical skills to match the job description. I would appreciate any leads to
- job coaching that is offered to refine my job search
- education I could take on to improve my chances
- other related improvements I could make Thanks for reading. submitted by /u/AnotherDirkVelghe
