I’ve been meaning to ask for a while; literally had asking in the drafts for months now cause the right words to not have this all blow up in my face were lacking. But I feel too low to feel anxious so here goes: Some time ago I saw a post from this writer lady about the type of male characters she wishes there were more of. Bad at sports, have more emotions, have weird hobbies, aren’t all brooding…you get the picture And I felt like there’s more about male characters that I don’t know below the surface. Especially after watching an Overly Sarcastic Production trope talk about them and about how male characters are either: in a relationship, looking for a relationship or getting over a relationship, and a whole lot of other things. So I thought, who better to ask about this than the fellas!. The guys I know aren’t particularly chatty and so I thought maybe I could…ask here and see what I learn from others. And that is what I came here to ask: if you, any of you ever had a particular kind of male character you wish you could’ve seen more growing up or right now, or any men’s issues you wish were brought up, made clearer to you and maybe younger guys, explored more? submitted by /u/Marissa_on_the_town
