Hi everyone, I’m starting a new job in August 1st and my wife is expected to give birth to our first child September 22nd. During the interview process it was never asked, so I also didn’t talk about it (I’m the father, btw). I don’t plan on taking the full paternity leave (or any at all, as we have support from both our parents) but I do want to be present for the birth, which obviously could happen at any time around the due date. Which means, that I may have to leave short notice. When would you inform your employer in this situation?
