We were told: At lower click intensity levels, Bloodwood Trees will offer roughly 50-60k Woodcutting XP per hour, making them a more relaxed option for steady progress. and You can approach Bloodwood Trees in a relatively low-intensity, semi-AFK way, or opt into a more click-intensive style that rewards focus and effort. Well I recently made a plugin to track and discuss this exact thing! https://runelite.net/plugin-hub/show/afk-stats-tracker From doing the new woodcutting activity for 10 minutes we get the following stats: Length: 10m 16s Consistency: 43 Avg Interval: 687ms Avg Distance: 4.8% Clicks: 896 What does that really mean though you nerd?! I am glad you asked. Here is a chart with other activities plotted: Graph As you can see the closes neighbor to this new method is Demonic Gorillas. A well known annoyingly high apm activity. The only difference is that DG’s are more consistently high APM. You have to click the tree to swing and then have to click your character to pull back your axe, then the tree again till its filling the bucket and then click the tree again to keep filling. Where is the “semi-afk” or “low intensity” alternative to this? Or did we just overload the term intensity and AFK yet again to mean some form of “you wont die or lose anything when you forget to interact”. Because I don’t know about you but tick manipulation sandstone mining is this same level of “semi-afk” or “low intensity”. AKA not afk at all. TL;DR The new woodcutting activity was pitched as low intensity/semi afk. Its neither. That is okay but we should stop calling things afk when they are clearly not. EDIT: I had not seen the latest blurb on this activity in the main announcement. Here Though it does not address the low intensity alternative at least it was not being pitched CURRENTLY as low-intensity. submitted by /u/Reasel
