I 22(M) have been trying to date over the past year using a combination of in person dating events, social events and dating apps and have found the girls I speak to, to have been quite flaky. I get the whole, if a person’s not interested, they won’t be communicative and whatnot. However, I have had multiple instances of girls agreeing to go on dates/meet-up to then flake last minute. One agreed to meet up, only to then not respond a week after the event had passed, claiming to have been too busy, it felt more like she wanted to ghost but ended up feeling too guilty about it so texted a week later. We met at a social event that was hosted in my apartment complex. Another girl, knew she couldn’t make it but only said so at 4pm on the day we were meant to meet up. She apologised and offered to schedule the week after, she didn’t respond for 3 days. In this instance, I did get annoyed and pointed out, that I would have appreciated if she had been more honest about not wanting to meet up. I’m a software engineer and my hobbies are quite isolated (gym, gaming) and so meeting new people is hard enough as it is. I try to be reasonably respectful to everyone I come across, including those who don’t appreciate my time, am I just having a bad streak or has this become the norm? submitted by /u/Lucky-Addendum-7866
