I’m talking about how at very low HP Drakan can start doing his full attack telegraph over just 1 tick instead of 2 which goes from totally manageable to imo being extremely hard. The saving grace though is that it isn’t like he reaches a threshold and then attacks faster until you kill him- he seemingly just starts doing it occasionally at very low HP but if you have supplies it’s mostly a non factor you can just heal through. I’m just wondering if anyone has figured out anything about how it’s supposed to work. Is it completely random? is it a % chance? Is it even intended? Once every X attacks? In response to you doing something? When I read a guide on the fight I was expecting his attack speed to just ramp up permanently but that was definitely not what happened. Given the design decisions they made to make this fight feel intense while actually being extremely forgiving I wonder if that the idea was to have the boss start sprinkling in an intimidating nearly impossible to avoid attack at low HP to give the feeling of an enrage phase where you’re racing to kill the boss as fast as possible without actually giving players a substantially harder enrage phase on top of by far the longest and hardest quest boss ever. Anyways I was just curious because the fast telegraph is maybe the craziest thing I’ve seen in the entire game in terms of processing information quickly but it didn’t feel like it was actually implemented as a real mechanic due to how little it occurs. submitted by /u/ShaqShoes
