People keep asking Jagex to “FIX PVP” and complaining that there aren’t a lot of PvP updates, but I honestly don’t think there is any possible update they could do to make PvP as popular as it used to be. Back in the day of rs2 2004-2007, there were virtually no wilderness updates, and it was still thriving, because we were all kids back then and just messing around having fun. A lot of people don’t have the time to play as much as they used to and would rather spend those hours progressing their accounts, same reason house parties are non existent now. I think another big reason PvP isn’t as active now as it was back in the day is because most people simply outgrew it. I used to exclusively play competitive multiplayer games like call of duty and halo all day back in the day, now I mostly play single player games, People’s tastes change as they get older and while they might have liked the rush and competitive aspect of pking when they were younger, they might not anymore. Sure majority of players like to watch the PK videos and DMM events, but that doesn’t mean they want to participate, it’s just entertaining to watch, like the billions of people who watch sports, but don’t actually play those sports themselves. submitted by /u/partyhat-red
