I’ve run into some serious AI hallucinations — typical scenarios where my questions got too granular so it started to make shit up only to apologize and make more shit up . I mentioned this to a couple people and to my surprise no one seemed to know that this happened at all. Including my two teenage daughters and their early-20s babysitter , all of whom use ChatGPT for relationship advice. I don’t recall another time when I knew a technology thing before them. Given that we all know about AI and many of us use it for a zillion different things , how can it be that few people know that there’s a major problem, namely that AI does not work in a huge number of scenarios.
