According to Art. 59 4 https://www.fedlex.admin.ch/eli/cc/1999/404/de , the state has to give an appropriate compensation for absence during the military (or alternatives) It has been decided by the state, that this appropriate compensation is 80% of ones salary, according to Art 10 35 1 https://www.fedlex.admin.ch/eli/cc/1952/1021_1046_1050/de#chap_1_a/lvl_II This compensation however doesn’t seem to be appropriate to many empoyers: https://www.vtg.admin.ch/de/offener-brief-an-die-wirtschaft-fuer-mehr-unterstuetzung-der-armeeangehoerigen and many employers don’t want to employ people that still have the rs infront of them. The previous army commander even confirmed this that it happened to him too ( https://www.20min.ch/story/appell-an-die-wirtschaft-militaerdienst-als-jobkiller-jetzt-reagiert-armeechef-auf-tiktok-103412080 or https://www.tiktok.com/@armee.ch/video/7546596659203968278 directly) It doesn’t seem like appropriate compensation in my view if your chances of finding a job are lowered. But I’m not a lawyer, so maybe, I’m misunderstanding something. Instead of writing an open letter, isn’t this finding enough ground on changing the compensation, such that this doesn’t happen? submitted by /u/Feds_the_Freds
