I graduated from software engineering about a year ago and couldn’t find any job in software development, so I’ve been working as a cashier until I move abroad for my Master’s studies. Now with AI, I’ve completely lost hope for a better future, which is why I chose a completely different niche for my Master’s degree in hopes of finding better job prospects. I’ve noticed there are plenty of software development jobs available at startups right now, but they’re all equity based and I don’t have the time to invest in unpaid work. I guess it would have been better during college when things were different. Do you have any advice on how to restore my faith and hope in software engineering? I’m really tired of applying to jobs, and I’m genuinely sad because my parents barely managed to finance my college education for me to graduate, and now this is how I’m returning their investment. They took a chance on me the day I enrolled into college, and I feel like I’m letting them down submitted by /u/xvelar
