I love my life in Vaud and would not want to change it. That said, I do wonder sometimes why we often seem to lack behind many other cantons in terms of costs and certain benefits, for example: Higher income taxes than eastern Switzerland Higher health insurance costs Higher property prices Ridiculous taxes and fees when buying property Higher electricity prices Fewer public holidays Where do those extra costs go? Do we get something in return that other cantons might not have (thinking in terms of public/government spending/programs, not lifestyle related things)? submitted by /u/Kooky_Eye5475
