Why does Switzerland prohibit “license tourism” ? For example, Switzerland won’t recognize your license if you did it in France or anywhere else while living in Switzerland. If you register your residency in the other country, do the license, and then come back to Switzerland a month later, they’ll say it was for license tourism and deny recognition. For it to not be license tourism, you have to stay in the other country for one year. A trucking license for example can be had for 1000 euros in France, and the same is 7000 CHF in Switzerland.
