I was reading the post on reporting nepotism, and a person writes in a comment: Probably unpopular opinion but it’s very fine to hire people we know and are already comfortable work with, of course as long as we know they’re qualified and will be a good fit. It’s precious to work with people we know we can trust, especially up the hierarchy. If this becomes the overarching sentiment, we send a signal that connections matter more than skills. If we don’t extend equal opportunities and hire based on merit, I predict that in a few short years, Swiss quality will go down the drain, replaced by sycophancy, and Swiss wages will plummet. I made a post out of this because I believe this merits a discussion on its own. submitted by /u/Kremho
