I am aware that the probability of wrongful accusation is small. I am aware of the assimetry in law (canada for reference) regarding men. But I need to understand how I am ever to recover from a break of trust in this magnitude in future relationships In short: I have never been arrested nor criminally charged. I dont have any mental issues. My ex and me dated on off for 2 years. She has a past of multiple mental disorders (psychosis, dissociation, ED) and has a childhood trauma of being sexually abused (court dropped due to lack of evidence). Her ex boyfriend allegedly sexually assaulted and assaulted her. He was arrested and the process is on going (dropped in her home country due to lack of evidence thus she let him arrest in his country). This time we saw each other for 4 days… I came to her to visit her and spend time together. After an attempt of her to seriously injure me, i broke up the next day. The same night I was arrested for multiple charges of SA, A and more. My trust in her and generally in woman has been shattered. I had never any issues in my last relationships (long and stable). This woman wants to complettly destroy my life as she did with her ex. To think that the person who wanted children with me, a life with me, loved me unconditionally would ever do something on this magnitude… left me speachless, restless, anxious. I have enough evidence to support my case despite the assymetrie. But i’m more worried about the implications for future relationships. How do you explain something like that? How can you ever trust another woman? How do you even recover from alligations this severe. submitted by /u/Deep_Many_1362
