I had business-related questions regarding HR a few years ago as many others (in Valais). I did basically all the work myself, put the whole file together, sent it over nicely organised. The lawyer comes back with a 1’000.- bill just to tell me it wasn’t worth pursuing. It might’ve been the right call tbh, but paying a grand to hear “no, drop it”. Few years later, another lawyer in Vaud told me that the “fair play” is to not charge when everything is “ready” and you don’t proceed. So how do you lot handle it? Like at what point is it actually worth paying instead of just dealing with it yourself, is it the amount at stake, the stress, how messy it is? And when you do pull the trigger, how do you even find someone decent without just crossing your fingers? submitted by /u/HumanSelector
