I used to be head chef of a local popular restaurant and one day through the pass I noticed the general manager of my local spoons coming in with his wife. I told the floor manager to comp their drinks and give them 50% off their bill because I used to talk to him a lot when I went for after work pints in my previous kitchen. After that date, he gave me 50% off on all my food and drinks. 50% off in spoons is a very, very sweet nut. That’s £2.50 for 2 pints. AND he used to know mine and my partner’s regular order, so if he saw me coming in, he’d open the bottle of beer I liked and pour the cider my partner drank and by the time I got to the bar, I tapped my card, said thanks and sat down. 10/10 service. My other half was obviously jealous and after a few drinks went to the bar and demanded my discount, but asked the wrong manager and the days of the 50% discount swiftly came to an end. How did your partner ruin something good you had going on? submitted by /u/Deep_Banana_6521
