I’ve noticed that when things go wrong at work, in a negotiation, or even just in a group setting, the older, more experienced guys rarely panic or get loud. They do something specific to deescalate or take control that I was never taught growing up. It’s not about being an “alpha” or dominating the room. It’s just quiet, practical competence. What is a specific, tangible thing you’ve seen older men do in a crisis or high-stakes moment that you’ve since adopted into your own life? Edit: To clarify - I’m not looking for advice on my own situations, just genuinely curious about observed tactics from others’ experiences. submitted by /u/tryinganywaythough
