My husband roughhouses with our sons (7 & 5) a lot. Sometimes there are accidents, but mostly it’s a lot of fun and good bonding. However, whenever I see him do this move (picking them up by the head), my butthole clenches. I feel like it’s a spinal injury waiting to happen. I’ve warned him about the nightmare that is caring for a paralyzed kid the rest of his life. He laughs me off. The kids love it. Parenting subreddit was unanimously horrified and said it was reckless, abusive, and even CPS-worthy. However, I noticed it looked like all the responses were from women. Frankly, I think they can go overboard in their reactions sometimes over there, like going no contact with grandmas for kissing a newborn or using rear-facing car seats til kids are 3. So I wonder if the reaction is the same for men. Have you ever been picked up by the head as a kid? Should i just trust my husband knows what he’s doing and let them play, or is it too dangerous? Do you think I should set an ultimatum? submitted by /u/ShouldntHaveDeleted0
