Basically, I’m a 25 year old Portuguese guy who moved to Biel/Bienne to work in an unskilled job until I find something better. Although the salary is much higher than what I was earning in Poland where I lived for the past two years my social life has been practically nonexistent, and that’s starting to get to me a little. I’ve been here for two months and still haven’t made a single friend to have a drink with or go out with. I’m part of a group of foreigners, but everyone there is in their 40s, and we don’t have much in common. As some people recommended, I tried using Tinder and got a total of zero likes and matches, even after using the premium version for a week. In Poland, I used to get matches even without the premium version. I wanted to use dating apps mainly to start meeting people and have things to do on the weekends, but I don’t know if Swiss girls are just extremely superficial or if they simply don’t speak English. Note: I have an average-looking face but I’m a bit short (5’8 or 1.73 cm). I don’t know if that could be the problem. But basically, that’s it. I’ve been here for two months and haven’t made a single friend yet; I always spend my weekends alone, walking around the city and listening to music. Can you give me your opinion on this? Do you think this is a common situation for a newly arrived expat? It’s just that every weekend gets more depressing because it’s always the same routine. Thanks :) submitted by /u/mix3456
