I have been testing AI in the early stages of physical product development to see where it is genuinely useful. For one small project, I used an AI assisted workflow to organize a rough product idea into a basic tech pack structure. It gave me starting point for materials, measurements, construction notes, and other details I would normally have to organize manually. The result still needed review. Some dimensions were unrealistic, a few material choices needed changes, and the manufacturing details needed human judgement. The main benefit for me was saving time on the initial setup. It made it easier to review the idea, spot missing information, and prepare better questions before speaking with a manufacturer.
