With the influx of good Chinese open source models and responses we’re seeing from Openai I think it’s really likely that ai tech companies bring government action against Chinese ai. But is it actually possible for the US to force their own companies to use American AI or ban Chinese ai? Something like sanctioning all companies that operate in the US that use Chinese models or non-American models even? or trying to Huawei chinese ai firms at the same time? Would any of these actions actually benefit the US? Why or why wouldn’t it be able to keep US ai companies afloat and harm Chinese ai firms?
