I’ve been using Claude Opus 4.6 in chat, to drive Claude Code (Opus 4.8 and Fable) for the last couple of weeks. Benefits: 4.6 can argue with 4.8 and instruct Fable much better than me 4.6 is a great conversationalist – I feel like I’m conversing with a tech lead instead of an engineer 4.6 can answer questions about the super long books 4.8 loves to write without polluting the development context 4.6 happily interrupts the build if 4.8 goes off the rails All driven via MCP to a CLI session, so you just chat like normal in the chat (you can even have multiple chats about the same ongoing session, or past sessions).
