Ever since agentic engineering became a thing, I am noticing that more and more SaaS, especially in the corporate world is worthless… Just today I came from a meeting concerning some legacy reports that need to be migrated to use a new database… They use Power BI to display everything. Anyway, taking one look at the reports, I could see that I could one shot Claude to build a web app that displays the reports in the exact same way. Then just setup a $5 internal web server, connect that to database and there you go… I vocalized this in the meeting, and… naturally they didn’t think it would be that easy… Ok whatever… have fun with your multi week migration project, I got better shit to do anyway. Guess how much we pay in licensing to use Power BI? Well it’s much more the $5 per month… Anyone else have this experience? I am constantly running into stuff that we use daily and go “uhhh, why the fuck are we paying for this?” submitted by /u/abandonedexplorer
