Really bums me out personally and I feel like it’s a solid step in us going too far. Your eyes are the one thing completely unique to you and manufacturing something else feels… wrong? Some people think I have a bias because my eyes are green/yellow. My family has some strong German/nordic genes, so a lot of blue eyes in my family; “you already have really pretty eyes, you don’t understand” but I don’t think that’s it. Brown eyes are my preference. My girlfriends are like a mocha and deep honey color, which I adore. I don’t mind cosmetic surgeries to fix an insecurity or two, but before my girlfriend I’d be going out with women who look like 3D prints of the last 6 dates: blonde hair, identical noses, cheeks, jaw lines, blonde hair, bright white veneers that are all filed down to the same length, and all would talk about wanting blue eyes except the one who did have them. Idk if it’s because I’ve already been over exposed given my background, but everyone seeking this fetishized Scandinavian look or a Kardashian look just feels a step backwards in learning self confidence. I want cyberpunk-esque implants that let me jump 20 feet and cyber lungs to fix my asthma, let’s skip to that. Not this semi recent cosmetic surgery epidemic to make everyone look the same. Idk what are y’all opinions on this stuff? Not trying to degrade anyone who’s into it. Maybe I’m bias. I’m admittedly tall, dark blonde, without any real facial or body insecurities. Maybe I don’t understand. It just feels like a robbery of self identity. submitted by /u/KrispyKingTheProphet
