I’m 25 and I’ve only had one serious relationship. The thing is, we started out as friends, and I think that completely changed how I view relationships. It happened naturally we built trust, had great conversations, and eventually fell in love. That experience set the bar incredibly high. Ever since then, every girl I meet just feels… off. At first, I convince myself she’s the right person and get excited about the potential, but after a while the feeling fades and I realise we’re not actually compatible. On top of that, it feels like a lot of the women I meet are looking for something casual. I’ve had casual experiences, and they’re fun for a while, but eventually you start craving a real emotional connection with someone who genuinely understands you. I’m also just tired of the constant cycle of meeting new people, getting my hopes up, facing rejection, and starting over. It’s mentally exhausting. I honestly don’t know if I’m expecting too much because of my previous relationship, if I’m looking in the wrong places, or if this is just what dating is like now. Has anyone else felt this way? If you’ve been in a similar situation, what changed for you? submitted by /u/b_redditer
