Over the past year, I’ve had two relationships end, and I’m honestly starting to feel emotionally exhausted. The most recent one started really well. We had great chemistry, spent a lot of time together, and I genuinely thought it was heading somewhere. But after a while, she realised she couldn’t continue and ended things respectfully. We ended on good terms, and I don’t blame her. Sometimes things just don’t work out. What I’m struggling with is that whenever I genuinely like someone, I tend to invest emotionally. When it ends, it affects me deeply. I try to communicate well, learn from my mistakes, and make the other person feel loved and appreciated, but these experiences still leave me questioning whether I should keep looking. For people who are truly happy being single .not just distracting themselves…what changed your mindset? I’m not looking for advice on how to get over one particular person or how to find another partner immediately. I want to know how you reached a point where your happiness no longer depends on whether you were in a relationship. Especially if you’ve gone through repeated disappointments, what actually helped you move forward? What mindset shifts made the biggest difference? submitted by /u/friendslover69
