PLEASE NO MEDICAL ADVICE, ONLY COMMENT IF YOU PERSONALLY HAVE HAD A VASECTOMY. WE DO NOT WANT MEDICAL ADVICE THATS THE JOB OF A MEDICAL DOCTOR! Personal experiences ONLY! This is not just our personal request, it’s also the groups RULES. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I really would appreciate if men could help me encourage my partner with his vasectomy, can some of the fellas share your experiences? How’d it go? (You are not convincing him to get one. That’s not what I’m asking. You’re just sharing your experience so he isn’t afraid, he already has an appointment scheduled two weeks from now). Full disclosure I am a woman and I share five children with my partner. While I do have five living children, I have also had eight miscarriages with my partner. Worst of all last year. We lost a baby boy at 20+5 days weeks gestation, and it required me to give birth to the baby, which was devastating to say the least. We agree we are done having children, so I got the implant in my arm last August after losing our son. Since then, it has been really horrible for me and specifically the last month or two I have dealt with suicidal ideation. But this post is not about me alone. My partner is open to getting a vasectomy, but he’s terrified of needles, Blood and all things painful regarding medical procedures. I told him that there’s tons of options for anesthesia that he could go under. He can get gas and so on and so forth PLUS, money isn’t an issue here. Our insurance will cover Literally any version of his vasectomy. I mean. They will cover it under general anesthesia fully knocked out or even just the in office, gas, numbing, quick snip! So please can you all share your experience? What did your recovery look like? Did you go under? What anesthesia options did your provider offer? Have you noticed any changes during sex? what led you to having a vasectomy? if you have had one reversed, were you able to impregnate someone again? Oh and lastly, can you explain the process, and if you too, are scared of needles and blood. How did you handle it? Did your provider offer you medication to calm you down before things got started? Please be kind and respectful. I really just would like some help encouraging him. I think it would help. If other men let him know what it’s truly like and that he has nothing to be afraid of! submitted by /u/Pickle_picker_420
