A few days earlier, someone I knew had insulted my best friend in a group chat we were all in. My friend wasn’t in that group, so I stood up for him. Later, the guy who’d insulted my friend came up to me confronted me and slapped me twice, also hitting both of my ears leading to them beeping. At that moment, I felt emasculated and didn’t have the guts to defend myself. My initial thought was to de-escalate the situation, just take it on the chin and let him win, but my ego is hurt and I felt as though my entire masculinity had been taken away from me. Did i act right? is my honor gone. honestly its very depressing for me and i cant think of anything else, he even forced me to kiss his hand and i did it… so my question is: when someone attacks you physically, should you de escalate with word or fight back, and is it unmanly to not engage in physical acts? submitted by /u/Key-Lengthiness-3935
