18M here. When I was in 10th grade, my class teacher had a huge impact on me. She believed in me, encouraged me, took extra classes before my board exams, and really changed the way I looked at myself.p After my 10th results, I wrote her a heartfelt thank-you letter (around 1,000 words) and bought her a gift, but I never actually gave them to her. Somehow, two years have passed. Since then, I didn’t pass my 12th exams and will have to repeat the year. I feel embarrassed to meet her because I don’t feel like I’ve achieved anything yet, but at the same time I don’t think gratitude should depend on success. I’d like to hear other men’s perspectives. If you were in my position, would you still go and thank her after two years, or would you leave it alone? If you’ve ever thanked a teacher years later, how did it go? The gift is a saree.
