Sport links people together, but when you’re consistently at the bottom of a leaderboard, it’s a drag. What bothers me about that is how consistent it is, that it’s always the same situation whether I’m playing online games, soccer, billiards, baseball. Almost everything competitive. People will include me in teams because they like me as a person outside the sport. But then when I let them down, that look of disappointment is one i’m all too tired of. My issue is that these experiences are enough to make me avoid these kinds of activities, which makes it hard to make new friends or have active hobbies to relax outside of work.
