ARE THEY OUT OF THEIR MINDS !?!? For a 2017 Hyundai Tucson 1.6T Took it into the Hyundai dealership to get a diagnostic to figure out what the small knocking was because I just got an oil change done and it sounded like a timing chain. Or a rod bearing. I was prepared to hear around $12,000 if the engine needed to be replaced at most. Two days later they’re done with the diagnostic and they quote me for just the engine itself over 20,000+ dollars just for the engine. On top of it, the codes are currently saying pending for any of the cylinders. I don’t approve for any warranty because I’m the second owner this is my very first vehicle. The dealership technician that was helping me said he was going to try his best to see if they can find anything for me but obviously since it’s $20,000 that’s a no…. I work out on a farm. I need this car to get from A-B since there’s no buses or Ubers that go out that way! Totally freaking out…. I don’t have 20,000+ dollars. For a new engine on a car I got two years ago!!! If I did have 20k I WOULDNT HAVE A 2017 TEMU HONDA. Calling around to see how much replacements would cost at smaller auto shops and hopefully I won’t need to pay more diagnostic checks…. Roughly how much this shit cost I only have a budget of $12,000. i legit cannot go over that i don’t have it. Including if the turbo needs to be replaced as well because I know those go side inside and being replaced together. Im freaking out!!! submitted by /u/PinkBatlemonade
