So there I was, standing in line at the Dollar Store, practically vibrating with excitement because I was about to lock in a $6,800 payout on a simple $3,000 deposit . I made the mistake of trying to share my absolute triumph with the kid behind me, expecting a “Congratulations, sir!” or maybe a request for financial mentorship. Instead, this guy looks me dead in the eye and goes, “Respectfully Mister, that’s a scam.” Excuse me? I politely explained to him that I’m in an exclusive online VIP Dating Club where you send $3,000 and get $6,800 back the exact same day, and that I literally saw 11 people in front of me get their money already. It’s an airtight operation! Then he tries to break it down with kindergarten logic. He goes, “Hear me out, if I asked you for 5 dollars and say I’ll give you 10 right back why would I do that? I’d be down $5 for no reason!” I looked him right in the face and told him the honest truth: “I have no idea why, it’s the craziest thing!” I mean, who am I to question the magic of the free market? Some companies just love giving back to their members! He still wouldn’t drop it. He hit me with, “Okay but if you’re the person running this dating club operation, why do it? To give you, a random stranger, money?” I stood there and pondered it for about five seconds. Look, I don’t pretend to understand their internal revenue models, maybe it’s a massive tax write-off, maybe it’s funded by a billionaire matchmaker. I don’t know, but I’ve seen it happen already! Unfortunately, the Dollar Store cashier couldn’t process my $3,000 money order (obviously a technical glitch on their end), so I had to leave without completing the deposit. I could tell the kid thought he “saved” me, but I’m currently speeding to Walmart to get this money order sorted out before the 12th guy in line steals my payout spot. Stay broke, random Dollar Store hater. The Dating Club is making me rich today. submitted by /u/UNEXPECTED_PREQUEL
