Men, how would you feel if your estranged partner texted you this? I told you that I needed us to talk about this pregnancy differently than we had been, no more just through text. I needed us to sit down, or at least talk on the phone, after you’d had some time to move through everything you were feeling after the initial shock and the confirmations with the doctor appointment. I didn’t want to make a decision this significant feeling like I was carrying it alone. It hurts that we never had that conversation, even though I can understand why you wouldn’t have it. Since that never happened, I’ve had to make this decision by searching my own heart, making endless pros and cons lists, and having countless conversations with my dad to help me process everything. I’ve cried more tears than I knew I had. I’ve questioned myself over and over. I’ve questioned and even yelled at the Universe. I’ve turned every possibility over in my mind and heart because I needed to be absolutely certain that whatever decision I made was one I could live with for the rest of my life. I’m not going to terminate the pregnancy. I’m having the baby. I got my blood work back. There are no genetic abnormalities, no Down syndrome, no trisomy. This little baby is healthy and growing just as they should be. Saturday night, I felt the baby move for the first time, and I’ve felt those little movements every day since. I can’t even begin to describe what that did to my heart. Everything became real. I’m not telling you this to pressure you, guilt you, force you into anything, or ask you to change your mind. I had to make the decision that I could live with in my heart for the rest of my life. I hope someday you’ll understand that. submitted by /u/Old-Abrocoma-6447
